The extreme hot weather is causing sunstrokes and blood pressure problem
among Mongolians as the temperature has soared up to 40 degrees
Centigrade, a record breaking highs. Most of the ambulance calls were
related to any type of heat-related illness.
Mongolian weatherman said the country had not experienced such a prolonged heat wave for over last decades. Places around the River Tuul become the most populous place in these days of hot temperature where people trying to keep cool during the heat wave that is passing through Mongolia. The meteorology institute released warning signs that the hot temperature might prevail over the course of next weeks, even local administrative offices of Khan-Uul district warned visitors around River Tuul not to drink alcohol before swimming, and put themselves in danger, and not pollute waters of the river, a main fresh water source of the city. No any case of drowning was reported. But local emergency management officers and rescue team members were boat patrolling from Khar Usan Tokhoi down to Zaisan area of River Tuul until August 21.
The best way to stay cool during a heat wave is to stay indoors, as city’s health authorities advised, drink plenty of fluids, wear lightweight, light colored and loose clothing and avoid strenuous activity. If you do happen to experience heat-related illness, it is important to contact your physician. |
