Police last week arrested a Tibetan lecturer for painting “Free Tibet” on the walls of the Chinese Embassy in Ulaanbaatar.
T.Galsan, a lecturer at the private Etugen Institute, was taken from the institute and arrested on Wednesday, according to News.mn.
Police have refused to comment on the news story, which also said they had been searching the homes of Tibetans for red paint.
Oyuntsetseg, a fellow teacher at the institute, has confirmed that police took the lecturer for questioning.
Galsan is believed to have a Mongolian wife. His brother was apparently shot dead during the recent riots in Lhasa, when police confronted Tibetan protestors.
He is accused of painting the words in red paint on April 1, although it had been removed by the following morning.
He also allegedly threw photographs showing police brutality against Tibetan protestors in Lhasa over the embassy fence.
