Management Board of the Mongolian People’s Party discuss new ministers

On January 12, six Ministers and several Deputy Ministers from the Democratic Party of Mongolia reached their decisions to leave their post.
They handed their requests to Prime Minister S. Batbold in one letter, signed by all of the 11 former Ministers and Deputy Ministers. Now they face the responsibility of safely transferring their work to the next appointed officials.
The MPP is required to appoint new Ministers in the next 30 days as indicated in the Law on Government. The Management Board of the MPP announced a meeting at to discuss the possible candidates for the vacant ministry positions.  It is possible for Prime Minister S. Batbold to temporarily assign new ministers until permanent decisions are made.


According to the Law on Government, the term of a government official starts immediately after appointment and it ends as soon as the next official is successfully appointed.
 During the MPP Management Board meeting, there was a discussion that current Deputy Minister of Finance, Ch. Gankhuyag and State Great Khural member, Ch. Ulaan, could be appointed for the position. In addition, State Great Khural Member J. Enkhbayar has been suggested for the position at the Ministry of Defense and D. Ochirbat has been suggested for the Ministry of Health.
