He is now a two-time Championship of World Masters-2012.
Recently, he was interviewed by “National Post” newspaper.
Below is the translation.
Q: Congratulations on your victory. How did you feel when you were standing on the medal platform?
A: Thank you very much. I’m really satisfied with my success. An athlete’s happiest moment in life is reaching their goals, receiving gold medal and hearing the national anthem.
Q: You wrestled with a French wrestler in the first round that you hadn’t wrestled before. You were able to beat your opponent. Had you observed him before?
A: I saw him wrestle at the Grand Prix which was held in Tokyo, Japan. Also, I once trained with him for three days and intentionally chose him as an opponent. During preparation I rarely observed him, relying mostly on my notes from training with him before. During the match, he attacked me aggressively for the first three minutes. He quickly tired and I was able to beat him.

Q: You always seem to be quite emotional in competitions. How are you away from the ring?
A: In my normal life I am much more relaxed. When I am with my friends I am humble and calm.
Q: When did you start your career?
A: I started to learn judo in 1998 at the “Khuch” sport committee My first coach was my father, Lieutenant colonel Baatarbold.
Q: Does your father have a Military Lion degree?
A: Yes. My father has a Military Lion degree.
Q: Do you wrestle in National Wrestling matches?
A: I’m too small to wrestle in National Wrestling matches. This is why, at 66kg, I’m perfect for Judo. The average weight of Mongolian National Wrestlers is 100kg.
Q: I remember you wrestling in the 70th anniversary of Dund Gobi aimag last year.
A: Yes, I wrestled in my hometown’s 70th anniversary wrestling competition and won twice winnings. If I were bigger, I would wrestle as a Mongolian National Wrestler.
Q: Do you watch wrestling competitions at the Mongolian Wrestling Palace?
A. I watch wrestling there and at the State Lion building. Kh.Munkhbaatar is my best friend and I support him all the time.
Q: Currently, you are sponsored by the Dunjingarav Company.
A: Yes, I am sponsored by the Dunjingarav Company. B.Narankhuu, Chief of Dunjingarav, provides me all the things I need including vitamins and salary. I was first sponsored by Dunjingarav last August. Sometimes, B.Narankhuu doubles as my psychologist.
Q: Psychologist?
A: B.Narankhuu is a kind person and a positive influence on people around him. Judo wrestling is developing rapidly and it’s nice to have someone with a clear head around.
Q: Athletes who participate successfully in International competition receive cash prizes and offers to wrestle under the name of foreign countries. Have you received this type of offer?
A: A man I know introduced me an American’s judo club in 2008. After visiting the club, he offered me a job there. I declined to continue participating in Mongolia.
Q: What are your plans for the next few months?
A: I will participate in several competitions in Europe starting on February 1. Now my dream is to participate in the 2012 London-Olympics.
