basBy E.SOLONGO

December 14, the Department of State Construction and “New Image” club introduced their project of building a bicycle road in Ulaanbaatar. They are working with Mongolian Cycling Federation and Traffic Department of Police. Z.Naran, head of the Cycling Federation and owner of “Attila” cycling shop said “Bicycle was entered Mongolians usage over 100 years ago. With the rapid development of car usage, air pollution and a thirst for petrol has increased. Daily bicycle usage will help the current environmental situation. Accomplishing that project will take time, but people will enjoy it upon its completion.” One billion MNT is needed to accomplish the project. The plan is to build 143 km cycling road and 99 bicycle parks. The 2012 budget will include the money to begin construction.
