Two books and one e-book have been published cataloguing the cultural heritage of Mongolia. The move was initiated by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science.
The Minister of Education Culture and Science, S.Otgonbayar opened the books to the public, which are entitled “Mongolian Buddhism Art”, “Mongolian Museum Pieces” electronic book and “Mongolian Nationality Cultural Heritages.”
The Mongolian Buddhism project’s main aim was to create a Mongolian Buddhism Art Book which registers recent arts and brings Buddhism articles to the public.
In the electronic edition there are 593 artifacts which are registered between the periods of 1995-2011. 4746 are registered to provincial museums.

According to an ordinance by the Minister, it is illegal to import and export culturally significant artifacts. The main advantage of the electronic edition is to protect Mongolia from losing its cultural heritage. It will also prove to be a valuable tool for Customs and Border workers.
The 3rd book is on the people who had a significant role in protecting cultural heritages and registering important Mongolian elements with UNESCO status.
