Four-way intersection coming to Flower Center

By M.ZOLJARGAL

A 0.45 kilometer road will be constructed going south across the fence of the winter palace of the President of Mongolia, which is state-protected property, connecting it to Seoul Street and the road behind Bayangol Hotel.
The road is a new initiative being implemented as part of the “Street” project of the Ministry of Economic Development, which is carrying out all major road expansion and development projects in the city.
The project will turn the road in front of Flower Center into a four-way intersection after the road to Seoul Street is paved. The intersection will join Peace Avenue, Seoul Street and Chinggis Avenue, and officials are expecting a reduction in traffic congestion in the area.
One of the main problems facing road expansion is big private or public buildings. It is very rare for the residents to give up their private land or real estate for public road expansion.
However, both government and private organizations, including Mongol Alt Company, Shunkhlai, Kapital Group, Nomin Holdings, TES Petroleum, Petrovis, Ulaanbaatar Hivs, Erel LLC, Darkhan Mink and Minii Delguur have shown their support for public road projects and have relieved some of their land for last year’s road projects.
The President and other officials have expressed that they are willing to cooperate with the new road construction.
