O.Burmaa wins gold at Yarygin Grand Prix


On Saturday, State Honored Athlete O.Burmaa won a gold medal in the women’s 75 kg weight division at the Ivan Yarygin Memorial Grand Prix, one of the biggest freestyle wrestling tournaments in the world.
The Grand Prix continued for three days and concluded on Sunday in Krasnoyarsk, Russia.
In the semi-finals, O.Burmaa, who is a member of Khilchin Sports Committee, beat Russian wrestler Alyona Starodubtseva. She competed against Belarusian wrestler Vasilisa Marzalyuk and earned the victory with 2:1 and 2:0 in the finals.
Previously, O.Burmaa won three silver medals from the Yarygin Grand Prix in 2008, 2012 and 2013.
On the same day, Aldar Sports Committee wrestler and international sports master P.Orkhon was defeated by Russian wrestler Irina Ologonova in the women’s 55 kg bout for the bronze medal.
Khilchin Sports Committee wrestler and State Honored Athlete A.Battetseg competed in the 63 kg weight class, while International Sports Master B.Nemekhbayar wrestled in the 61 kg weight class.
