Ulaanbaatar launches online ger area map


An online Ulaanbaatar community map, www.manaikhoroo.mn was launched this week which includes information on availability and access to public services in 87 khoroos of ger areas in six central districts.
The Asia Foundation, Office of the Ulaanbaatar City Mayor and all khoroo governors cooperated in the project in order to bring together an extensive information of 87 ger area bus stops, water kiosks, roads, kindergartens, schools, police stations, family health clinics, illegal waste disposal sites and lighted street locations, along with total number of households and other statistics which are now available at the website.
Areas with high risk of flooding and crime prone areas are also available the online map.
The website is easy to use and the information is available in both Mongolian and English with google map interface.
All the information on the website are downloadable free of charge. Comparative statistics of khoroos and districts are also offered.
