Ulaanbaatar to introduce automated parking systems at 5 locations

The Ulaanbaatar City Administration plans to establish fully automated parking systems at five locations with the most demand to improve traffic congestion in the capital. According to a study, drivers looking for parking spaces are responsible for 30 to 50 percent of traffic congestion.

The first automated parking facility will have a capacity of 64 cars and will cover only 100 meters square, the same amount space required to park only six cars. The facility is set to be built in front of  Building No.31 in the 2nd Khoroo of Khan-Uul District. The location for the facility is currently under geodesic analysis. Constructions are set to start as soon as the analysis is complete.

Contractors of the project stressed that the automated facility not only prevents damage to cars and auto theft, but also saves drivers’ time as the system will not require manual labor.
