Chinggis Khaan International Airport to Biocombinat road opens

The opening ceremony of the road from Chinggis Khaan International Airport to Biocombinat took place on October 28. The road is nine meters wide and spans 22.5 km. The Total Inj Company constructed the road expansions with 30 billion MNT in funding from the Ulaanbaatar City Budget.
The base pavement has been completed and the road is operational, but water drainage, concrete bridges and tunnels, as well as final pavement will be completed by July 2014.
The road’s expansion and repair fund was not originally included in the state budget for 2013, however, Khan-Uul District residents repeatedly requested for the expansion to be completed. The construction began on April 2013 ,with the initiative of the member of parliament (MP) L.Bold.
MP L.Bold, Ulaanbaatar City Mayor E.Bat-Uul, the Deputy Mayor N.Gantumur, and the Chief of Ulaanbaatar City Auto Road Authority A.Nanzaddorj were present at the inauguration ceremony.
