‘Erchim’ club gets seventh win

By B.ODONTUYA

‘Niislel League,’ which is a national football league tournament, co-organised by the Mongolian Football Federation and APU Trading LLC, concluded on last Saturday. This year the tournament featured over 180 football players from eight teams. ‘Erchim’ club (UB Power Plant team) with leader Ts.Enkhjargal, won first place this year and was awarded six million MNT. The Khoromkhon club and the team from Ulaanbaatar University won the next two places. They were rewarded with four and two million MNT.
This year the ‘Niislel League’ was held in a different way to previous years. Because the standard football court is being expanded to a mini-stadium and now under construction, the matches took place in Erdenet in Orkhon Province. Also, the tournament in previous years used to work via an elimination system. This year as a result from club requests, the team which had the most points in two rounds became the winner.
