449 vehicles towed for illegal parking

Ulaanbaatar City Auto Road Monitoring Agency opened the Division for Towing and Impounding on September 2 this year to reduce traffic congestion caused by vehicles illegally parked in traffic lanes.

As of October 2, 449 vehicles have been towed from the right hand lanes of traffic and were impounded for obstructing public traffic flow, and the 30,034,700 MNT in fines paid by vehicle owners was placed in a State Fund.

The division takes pictures of the vehicles as evidence and tows away them. The towing is expected to increase traffic flow, ensure traffic safety and raise the awareness of both pedestrians and drivers of traffic regulations.
