Police guilty of receiving bribes sentenced to five years in prison

By M.ZOLJARGAL

Bayangol District Court held a trial for the five police officers who intended to release detained Chinese nationals accused of trying to smuggle a massive amount of pine nuts to China, after taking 40 million MNT in bribes. The trial lasted for two days and the judges finally sentenced the police officers to five years in prison.

The immoral illegal actions pushed the judges to sentence them to prison. The accused Chinese have fled to China. Each of the convicted officers will be imposed with a fine of 100,000 MNT or equal assets.
