E.Ariuntungalag takes bronze

The 2013 Asian Youth Games is taking place in Nanjing, China. A young Mongolian athlete, E.Ariuntungalag, won the bronze medal in the girls’ 2,000-meter steeplechase in this second Asian tournament.  She covered the race in seven minutes and 35.5 seconds, following competitors from Vietnam and Syria. Her medal is the third one won by Mongolian athletes in this international competition. Previously, judokas Z.Tushigtor (boys’ 55 kg) and Ts.Khulan (girls’ 52 kg) grabbed the bronze medals.

The 2nd Asian Youth games will have its closing ceremony on August 24. The Mongolian team consists of 89 young athletes participating in nine sports categories of the tournament.
