“Tatar” to donate proceeds from new album to fight alcoholism

The popular Mongolian hip-hop band “Tatar” announced at a press conference last week the formation of its new anti-alcoholism campaign, stating that the proceeds from its new album will go towards funding anti-alcoholism organizations. The announcement comes before the band’s tenth anniversary: to celebrate, the band members stated that they wanted to give back to the general public.
Their anti-alcoholism campaign is named “Nuluulluus deeguur” (Above the influence), as is the title of their new album. It is planned to continue for two months, during which the band will tour Ulaanbaatar and perform 60 concerts free of charge. In addition, their album is now on sale for only 1000 MNT. The campaign will also include some donation events and will take place in some rural areas.
The band held an open-air show at National Amusement Park last night to mark the launch of their campaign. They will have the album release party on June 5.
