Invitations to be delivered to every voter

The Ethics Department of the General Election Commission (GEC) and the authorities of the Civil Registration Office of the State General Registration Authority jointly called on a press conference last Wednesday regarding the list of eligible voters and the preparations for the 2013 Presidential Election.

At the start of the conference, the officials stressed that preparations to organize the upcoming election are being made within schedule and the relevant organizations are carrying out their assigned responsibilities in compliance with the law. According to the law, the last day of registration of Mongolian citizens residing abroad who are eligible to vote was on that same day, May 29.

“Some 3,500 Mongolians abroad have been registered to vote in the Presidential Election so far,” stated the GEC. The invitations will be delivered to every voter in order to remind people to cast their ballots in the election.

Moreover, the officials informed the conference attendance that the draft of the ballot paper is ready for approval.  The name of the candidate from the political party, which has the majority seats in the Parliament, will be on the top of the list. Braille ballot papers devoted to visually disabled voters have also been already prepared.
