Border guards find stash of deer antlers

A spokesperson for Military Unit 0108 announced this week that border guards discovered 208 kilograms of deer antlers stashed in a car that was headed across the border to China.

According to the military unit, the car was black jeep with a Mongolian number plate. The passengers had hidden the antlers with the intent of smuggling them across the border.

As taking or exporting deer antlers across the border is prohibited, the border guards apprehended the alleged smugglers and transferred the case to law enforcement officers.

Most of the deer antlers were reportedly from freshly killed deer. The spokesperson for the law enforcement organization stated that “To get this many antlers, at least 50 deer must have been illegally hunted [in recent days].”
