Year of the Snake brings multiple births among livestock

Spring has come to Mongolia and livestock have begun delivering their offspring. This year, the year of the Snake, is already considered by many to be a special year due to the exceptional number of multiple births among livestock across Mongolia so far.

A herder in Arkhust Soum of Tuv Province, Kh.Myagmar, has reported goat triplets, while a herder of the Khongio Herder Cooperative of Erdeneburen Soum in Khovd Province, Ch.Tsedendambaa, welcomed goat quadruplets. Meanwhile in Galuut Soum in Bayankhongor Province, five sheep quintuplets were born in O.Nyamsuren’s herd.

The Mongolian people, especially herders, are delighted with these auspicious births, as they indicate growing numbers of Mongolian livestock in the future.
