Agreement signed for developing tourism in UB

On Thursday the Arts and Culture Authority of Ulaanbaatar (ACAU) signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ulaanbaatar City Tourism Board (UCTB) under which the two organizations will work together to develop Ulaanbaatar as tourist attraction, with the aim of increasing tourism revenue. The agreement was signed by the Acting Chairman of the ACAU, B.Battsengel, and the Acting Chairman of the UCTB, E.Battulga.

Activities under the agreement include providing information about cultural performances in Ulaanbaatar for Mongolian citizens, expatriates, and tourists; and organizing major cultural events to attract tourists from Mongolia’s rural areas and foreign countries to Ulaanbaatar.

Other activities on which the two organizations will cooperate are as follows:

  • Preserving, restoring and promoting Ulaanbaatar’s heritage.
  • Organizing walking tours in the city, led by school children and university students.
  • Developing the handicraft sector and holding exhibitions.
  • Improving facilities in museums and performance centers so audiences have better comfort and service.
  • Including arts, culture, and tourism organizations in events held by ACAU and UCTB.
  • Free advertising of ACAU events on UCTB billboards.
  • Formulating a distinct tourism direction for UB and a cultural tourism map of the city.
  • Giving professional advice to museums and performance centers.
  • Organizing training courses for museum staff.
  • Linking arts and cultural organizations with private companies and supporting their cooperation.
