Mongolian delegation visits our prisoners abroad

By E.Dari

Mongolia’s diplomatic missions in foreign countries operate to protect the rights of Mongolian citizens who reside in the countries they are in charge of. In the scope of their operation, the officials of the Mongolian Embassy in the Czech Republic and the General Consulate in Hoh Hot, China visited the Mongolian convicts in those countries and listened to their complaints and feedback.

According to an official, seven Mongolians are being penalized in Hoh Hot and nine Mongolian citizens are serving the sentences in the Czech Republic. They are regretting the mistakes they have done and serving their jail time well. Accordingly, some of them have a chance to be released before their sentence, said the convicts.

In addition, one offender in the Czech Republic and three prisoners in Hoh Hot have requested that they serve the rest of their jail term in their motherland. The diplomatic consulates are working to further their request to relevant organisations.
