Midterm strategy adopted

The number of single mothers, who raise their children alone, has been increased by 5 times since 1990. It is related to the issues of; the average mortality age of men has decreased,20 percent of Mongolian men are addicted to alcohol and many thousands of men have migrated to foreign countries to earn more money.
An average salary of employed women is less by 14.3 percent than men and there are organizations to promote mothers, who are breast feeding, an increase in their income and to improve their work skills.
The negative social phenomenon caused by gender inequality has not been decreased. This indicates that the initiation and intention to implement the law on gender equality is not sufficient at the national and local department level. Thus, the government has adopted the midterm strategy and plan to implement the law on gender equality through it’s meeting held on Saturday.
Strategy and plan has the intention; to provide gender equality in Mongolia, to create a sustainable and beneficial environment and to improve the quality of life of Mongolian people. Accordingly, the members of parliament were given the duties to; work, take measures to impose the demanded capital to implement the gender equality law to the annual state budget and to attract foreign investment for implementation of the law.
