Skaters win six gold medals at World Masters Open


The Mongolian speed skating team has seized six gold medals at the 2016 US Masters National Speed Skating Championships and World Masters Speed Skating Open, held in Milwaukee, USA, from February 6 to 7.
The Mongolian team comprised of International Sports Masters N.Erdenetuya, B.Sansarbileg and Ts.Baybayar.
Skater N.Erdentuya raced in the women’s 500, 1,000 and 1,500 meters categories of the World Masters Open and won three gold medals.
International Sports Master B.Sansarbileg competed in the men’s 500, 1,000 and 1,500 meters categories of the World Masters Open and also secured three gold medals.
B.Sansarbileg is Mongolia’s top speed skater, and has been competing since the Nagano 1998 Winter Olympics.
Mongolian master athletes returned to Mongolia on February 19.
Over 40 athletes from four countries, namely the USA, Romania, Mongolia and Canada, competed in the tournament.
