MTZ representatives and Shenhua Group discuss Tavan Tolgoi railway construction

A working group led by the Executive Director of Mongolian Railway (MTZ), D.Ganbat, visited Beijing to discuss the development of the Ukhaa Khudag to Gashuunsukhait railway and investment issues with the President in Charge of foreign relations and investment for Shenhua Group, and other relevant officials.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on investment solutions for the railway connecting Ukhaa Khudag to Gashuunsukhait, and discussed immediate commencement of the construction work. D.Ganbat talked about the urgent need for blueprints and additional research to start the construction.
Shenhua Group said that it is interested in resolving the Ukhaa Khudag to Gashuunsukhait railway development to accelerate implementation of plans for investment, exploration, transportation, and sales at the Tavan Tolgoi mine. However, the Chinese side didn’t give a definite answer on how to resolve investment for the railway’s development or when construction would begin.
