State Honored Artist G.Ariunbaatar appointed a Cultural Ambassador

Grand Prix Winner of the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition G.Ariunbaatar was appointed a Cultural Ambassador during his Mongol Classic II concert performed on December 19, at the Central Cultural Palace.
During Mongol Classic II, Speaker of Parliament Z.Enkhbold presented the vocalist with a certificate for his title as one of Mongolia’s Cultural Ambassadors, along with a diplomatic passport (green passport), allowing him to enter more than 20 countries without a visa. Cultural Ambassadors are responsible for promoting Mongolia abroad through arts and sports.

Z.Enkhbold said, “We appreciate your contribution to the development of international classical arts in Mongolia, and that you have promoted Mongolia around the world. That’s why we have appointed you a Cultural Ambassador of Mongolia. The government will support and help you to promote the culture, art and history of Mongolia abroad, and to strengthen bilateral relations between Mongolia and other countries.”

G.Ariunbaatar is the fourth Mongolian to become a Cultural Ambassador of Mongolia. The 69th Yokozuna Hakuho M.Davaajargal, State Honored Athlete N.Tuvshinbayar, and ballet dancer D.Altankhuyag are Mongolia’s other Cultural Ambassadors.
After his victory at the Tchaikovsky competition, G.Ariunbaatar went on tour through the U.S. and Western Europe. One of his U.K. tour stops included a performance at Buckingham Palace and dinner with the Royal Family on October 27.
G.Ariunbaatar posted on his Facebook page on December 19 that Prince Charles and the Royal Family of the United Kingdom sent a letter of appreciation, for performing in London recently. The Prince said in his letter that he is looking forward to hearing him sing again at the Mariinsky Theater.
