A welcoming ceremony for Ch.Mungundalai took place at the Mongolian Youth Federation on Tuesday.
His 6,200 km journey to western provinces started in 2014. He passed through over 210 soums of 13 provinces in the western region of Mongolia in 167 days.

Below is a brief interview with Ch.Mungundalai.

Congratulations. You travelled around Mongolia. How do you feel now?

Thank you. I crossed 11,200 kilometers on a bicycle in two years. During my travel, I realized that it is wonderful when a person has a goal. I didn’t give up. However, there were many difficulties and obstacles. Finally, I finished my travel and came home.

You travelled for 167 days before. This time you travelled for 136 days. What was the difference between these two journeys?

This time I passed 60 soums of eight provinces in the eastern region, and three districts, Nalaikh, Baganuur and Bagakhangai. I learned a lot from the previous journey. But there were many difficulties. It was cold in the countryside. I was tired a lot and felt cold. I set up tents in the steppe and stayed in several times.

What are you planning now?

I want to rest for a while. I am tired. I think I am the only Mongolian to cross Mongolia on a bicycle. This journey was the longest and hardest for me.
