Mongolian dancers win six gold cups at IMDE

The Mongol Tuurgatan International Dance Festival (IMDE) took place in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, from October 23 to 28. Mongolian dancers of the National Song and Dance Ensemble participated in the competition and won six gold cups out of nine.


J.Mendbayar composed the music for the performances of the Mongolian dancers. The contemporary Mongolian dance “Salkhit Shuvuun” won a gold cup. Composer of the National Song and Dance Ensemble M.Birvaa won gold for music for contemporary Mongolian dance. The Mongolian performance of “Joroon Joroo” won the traditional Mongolian dance category. Composer M.Birvaa won gold for music in the traditional Mongolian dance category, and fashion designer Ganbat won a gold cup in the best dance costume category.
Artists from Kalmyk, Tuva and Buryatia also competed at the festival.
