DMU secures gold at Junior Football Tournament


Mongolian junior football team DMU won a gold medal and Deren team captured a bronze medal at the Junior Football Tournament, which took place Hohhot, Inner Mongolia from October 23 to 27.
DMU defeated Ordos of Inner Mongolia 3:2, Bugat 7:1 and Kharaatsai 2:0 in the Zone A matches.
In the semi-final, DMU played against Mongolia’s Deren and beat them 4:2.
In the final match, DMU beat the regional team of Ordos Province of Inner Mongolian 5:2, and seized the gold medal.
Deren played against Physical Education School of Inner Mongolia for the bronze medal. Deren beat the Inner Mongolian team 2:1.
A total of eight teams competed at the tournament.
The Junior Football Tournament was organized within the frames of the first China-Mongolia Expo.
The Inner Mongolian Government, Inner Mongolian Soccer Association, Sports Council and Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized the tournament between Chinese and Mongolian under 15 players.
DMU will hold a press conference at the Central Sports Palace at 12:00 p.m. on October 30.
