State and Parliamentary Heads Support Blood Drive

By B.Tungalag

Within the framework of the “National Program to Expand the Range of Blood Donors,” Parliament members headed by Z.Enkhbold, Head of the State Great Khural (Parliament) and President Ts.Elbegdorj donated their blood at the State Palace last Friday. This is the second time they have donated their blood. Limits on donating blood are dependent on one’s weight and height. Members of Parliament who have similar body weight donated 350 grams of blood. The President said “My blood type is AB. Doctors said my blood, which I have donated before, has helped to save a human’s life. He appealed for people to donate more blood.” The President offered his wrist watch as a gift to the Head of the Blood Center, Mr. Erdenebayar, in dedication to his hard work to help save peoples’ lives.
Z.Enkhbold, Head of the State Great Khural, also appealed to people to join in blood donation initiative. Though Mr. Enkhbold supports the efforts of the Blood Center, he is undecided as to whether the new building for the center is necessary or not.
Ministers Temuujin and Ts.Oyungerel along with members of the State Great Khural (Parliament) joined in this activity and also donated their blood.
