Mongolia ranks fourth at World Youth Chess Olympiad

The World U-16 (under 16-years-old) Youth Chess Olympiad is taking place at Hunnu Mall, Ulaanbaatar, with the last day scheduled tomorrow. Mongolia ranked fourth as of Thursday, after India.
The Olympiad launched on August 19, featuring 35 teams from 20 nations. They are playing 10 rounds in the Swiss system.
On Thursday, Iran was leading the Olympiad with 12 points, while Hungary and India were ranked second and third.

Open tournament of the Olympiad

Grandmasters E.Enkhnar, D.Sharavdorj, Ts.Batchuluun, B.Gundavaa and B.Khatanbaatar are among the 85 chess players competing in the open tournament of the Olympiad.
E.Enkhnar, who is only 18-years old, is leading the open tournament. The match between E.Enkhnar and B.Khatanbaatar lasted for over four hours on Tuesday, and finished with a tie.
Champions of the Olympiad will be awarded on August 29.
