Mongolia dominates Asia Memory Championship

- Mongolians seize 37 out of 63 medals available -

The Mongolian national mind sports team topped the team results charts of the first Asia Memory Championship and third Hong Kong Championship by seizing more than half of the possible medals from the competition.
The two-day championship, held in Hong Kong from August 22 to 23, offered 63 medals in total. Mongolia’s national team of 20 members, including mental sports athletes and coaches, earned 37 medals in total; 14 gold, 13 silver, and 10 bronze. The team had already acquired 19 medals on the first day of the event.
A total of 119 athletes from 13 countries participated in this championship.
The final results showed that International Grand Master O.Sengesamdan had won six gold and two silver medals, rendering him the Asian champion title. O.Sengesamdan is now ranked in fifth place in the world ranking of intellectual athletes as he scored 7,141 points in the Asia Memory Championship.

1. International Grand Master O.Sengesamdan (Mongolia) – 7,141 points
2. International Sports Master E.Purevjav (Mongolia) – 5,986 points
3. Grand Master Erwin G.Balinis (the Philippines) – 5,608 points

First three places from teenage category:

1. International Sports Master E.Purevjav (Mongolia) – 5,986 points
2. Junior World Champion E.Enkhmunkh (Mongolia) – 5,336 points
3. Junior World Champion Z.Tsetsegzul (Mongolia) – 5,135 points

First three places from junior category:

1. Wenxuan Ding (Malaysia) – 3,757 points
2. N.Namuundari (Mongolia) – 3,365 points
3. Zeqi Chen (China) – 3,079 points

E.Purevjav set a new world record in the 30 minute binary competition, amd Mongolian athletes U.Sengesamdan, A.Anudari, B.Shujir-Erdene, E.Enkhmunkh, Z.Tsetsegzul, and E.Purev, met requirements for the Asian Master title.
