Fundraising successful in covering medical expenses for a young hero

By M.ZOLJARGAL

A fundraiser is coming close to meeting its collection goal for covering the medical expenses of a 16-year-old boy who suffered from burns on over 80 percent of his body while saving his younger brother from a home fire.
A.Tserentogtokh saved his eight-month-old brother from a raging fire at their home on June 10. He is currently receiving medical treatment in South Korea with the financial support of many donors. His mother reported on Monday that he was being transferred from the intensive care unit to a regular treatment ward that day.
The total cost of the multi-stage treatments required for A.Tserentogtokh is 268 million MNT, and the fundraiser’s organizers announced on Monday that over 70 percent of the costs have been collected in donations so far.
The latest stage of the fundraising campaign was held by Mongolian Youth Federation (MYF) at Khui Doloon Khudag and Central Stadium for the three days of the National Naadam Festival. A total of 10 million MNT was collected from the campaign at the Naadam venues. MYF officials handed over the collected funds to the father and aunt of A.Tserentogtokh on Monday morning.
News about the boy and his bravery quickly spread on social media in June, and many residents of Ulaanbaatar, local organizations, and Mongolians overseas donated money to the fundraising effort.

If you want to join the fundraising campaign and contribute to the young hero’s medical treatment, you can transfer your donation to A.Tserentogtokh’s mother’s Khan Bank account: 5018042275 which is registered under the name Myagmar Delgermaa.
