G.Ariunbaatar advances to final round of International Tchaikovsky Competition


The 15th International Tchaikovsky Competition is taking place in Moscow and Saint Petersburg, Russia, from June 15 to July 3.
State Honored Artist G.Ariunbaatar, soloist of the State Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet Ch.Enkhtaivan, N.Oyunchimeg, and B.Batjargal; and vocalist of the Mongolian Military Song and Dance Academic Ensemble Ch.Badral are competing in this years’ competition.
G.Ariunbaatar advanced to compete in the final round of the 15th International Tchaikovsky Competition, along with seven contestants from South Korea, China, Russia, and Armenia.
G.Ariunbaatar graduated from the Mongolian State University of Culture and Arts in 2010. In 2011 he won the 24th Glinka International Vocal Contest in Moscow with a prize as best baritone and the special Pavel Lisitsian Prize. In 2012 he received a prize for best singer in Mongolia. In 2014 he took first prize in the 3rd Muslim Magomaev International Vocalists Competition in Moscow. Since 2014 he has been a soloist for the Buryat State Theater of Opera and Ballet in Ulan-Ude.
This year, the competition is dedicated to the 175th birthday of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
The first place winner of the competition will be awarded 30,000 USD and a gold medal.
The winner of the competition will be announced on July 2, at the event’s closing concert.
