Mongolian Athletes Day takes place

Mongolian Athletes Day took place on June 28, at Chinggis Square. Mongolia enacted a law on physical education and sports 12 years ago. Since then, Mongolia has celebrated Athletes Day on the last weekend of every June.
Athletes Day started with a parade of athletes, teachers and coaches from the Central Sports Palace to Chinggis Square, and they paid honor to statue of Sukhbaatar.
During the event, wheelchair dancing, law enforcement organizations, athletics, cycling, and moto sport performances were given.
Athletes Day aims at expressing gratitude and wishing good luck to all Mongolian athletes. The day’s events were organized by the Ministry of Health and Sports. Mongolian athletes, both old and young, gathered on Chinggis Square to congratulate and express appreciation to every Mongolian involved in sports – be they athletes or administrative officials.
