First rain of the year falls in Khuvsgul Province


Khuvsgul Province’s Khatgal soum, where Khuvsgul Lake is located, had the first rainfall of the year in Mongolia on Wednesday evening.
International weather forecast agencies confirmed that a mix of light snow and rain will fall today in Ulaanbaatar.
Western and central regions will experience snow and rain in upcoming days as well, while eastern regions of the country will have a drier weather, reported the National Agency for Meteorology, Hydrology and Environmental Monitoring.
Average wind speed will be seven to 12 meters per second, blowing from northwestern direction nationwide. In Altai Mountains and Gobi regions, wind speed will temporarily reach 16 to 18 meters per second, with dust storms expected.
