Poland interested in cooperation in mining and food production


At a meeting titled “Made in Poland – Opportunity for cooperation with Mongolian companies” held on Monday, representative of the Ministry of Economy of Poland Ewa Swedrowska-Dziankowska reported that Poland is interested in cooperating with Mongolia in mining techniques and technology, and in food production.
Poland aims to expand economic cooperation with eleven countries, including Mongolia. The Government of Poland has worked on a cooperation expansion program between Mongolia and Poland, emphasizing the mining and food production.
Poland has extensive experience in coal, brown coal, and copper exploitation, as well as in processing, and production. The country has also achieved great successes in operating with environmentally-friendly technology. Poland produces mining and agricultural equipment, and its GDP reached 530 billion USD as of 2013.
Regarding food production, Poland is well-known for its meat, dairy products, grains, dried fruit, fresh fruits and vegetables, beverages, juice concentrates, and baked goods.
In fruit export, Poland is ranked third in Europe. Representative of fresh fruit and vegetable supplier Ewa-Bis, Adriana Rudnicka said in her speech at Monday’s meeting that Poland is leading food production in the world, and is expanding its scope through its high quality and competitive prices.
Mieczyslaw Lapanowski, a representative from Poland’s Tines Capital Group JSC said that a railroad from Sukhbaatar to Altanbulag is being planned, and emphasized that Mongolia is one of Poland’s most prospective foreign markets.
In 2014, Poland exported 35.3 million USD in goods to Mongolia, while Mongolia exported 70,000 USD in goods to Poland.
